About the Role

The Mechanical Pipe Layer assembles and sets piping on water and wastewater plants, working from drawings and setting to grade.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Read blueprints and project documents. Assemble valves, piping spools, and fittings for water and wastewater. Set grade for trenching with lasers and transit levels. Cut, fit, and seal piping. Run minor welding for structural supports on headers. Operate heavy equipment to move earth and small powered equipment including tampers. Compare site conditions against the design and report discrepancies.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Pipe layers with knowledge of ductile iron, SDR 26, C-900, and MJ fittings. Able to read blueprints and communicate with the crew.
