About the Role

The Rod Buster prepares and places forms, sets embeds, ties steel, and places and finishes concrete on water and wastewater structures. Some rod busters also fabricate and assemble forms. The role operates small equipment and a range of hand and power tools.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Clean and prep forms, lay out beds, place forms, and set embeds. Roll grease on form cores and spray release oil. Tie steel mesh and rebar with tie guns and by hand. Cut and bend rebar. Size, cut, and place Styrofoam blockouts. Bolt and unbolt form walls with impact guns. Fabricate wooden forms from plywood and structural members. Lift and place aluminum hatchways and steel frames. Float, finish, and edge concrete. In the plant area: confined space entry, grouting and finishing, water stops, pump and pipe installation, and hydrostatic testing of assembled piping.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Workers who follow safety procedures, read a tape measure and basic drawings, lift 50 pounds regularly, and climb ladders. Able to operate small equipment such as a skid steer, mini excavator, telescoping forklift, and rebar bender.

WHAT WE OFFER

18 years or older, high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Able to read basic plans and drawings and follow instructions
Able to apply basic math to practical situations
Skilled with hand and power tools
Able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders
Able to operate small equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, telescoping forklift, rebar bender)
